Saltaires in Southern Utah

About The Saltaires

Taking its name from the historic Utah entertainment site, the Saltaires Show Chorus was formed in 1989 and is located near the beautiful Wasatch Mountain range in Salt Lake City. The Saltaires are one of the best competing barbershop choruses in the world, winning the Rocky Mountain District competition an unprecedented six times in a row! The Saltaires have been ranked in the top ten choruses internationally five years running and were named by official declaration "The Cultural Ambassadors of the State of Utah" by Governor Michael O. Leavitt.

The Show Chorus is comprised of about fifty men, singing four-part barbershop harmony music and performing regularly throughout  Utah and the Rocky Mountain region. Each year, the Saltaires Show Chorus competes nationally and internationally in barbershop chorus contests. The Chorus is a member of SPEBSQSA, a non-profit organization formed to preserve the uniquely American musical art form of barbershop quartet singing.

The Saltaires are a professional quality singing organization comprised of amateur performers, generally gathering together to rehearse just once per week. We encourage all men with a desire and ability to sing to join the Show Chorus. We have members who "commute" to practice and performances from as far away as Burley, Idaho and Evanston, Wyoming.
