Saltaires Chorus Director
John Sasine, International Quartet Champion
John joined the Barbershop Society in 1977, when he was 14, and competed in his first contest three weeks later!
He has sung in many quartets, was active in musical theater, and, before joining the quartet Nightlife, was the replacement lead of the 1964 International Quartet Champions, the Sidewinders.
John holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Brigham Young University. He is the owner of Rocky Mountain Recycling, a paper collection and brokerage company in Salt Lake City.
John received his formal musical training at Brigham Young University. He became the Assistant Conductor of both the BYU Singers with Dr. Ronald Staheli, and the Men's Chorus under Dr. Mack Wilberg. John, a Southern Californian by birth, started his barbershop career when he was a high school student. As a singer, John has been involved with both barbershop quartets and choruses for over three decades.
