The Saltaires are delighted to announce Dr. Brady R. Allred as our new musical director. Dr. Allred has more than three decades of experience as a professional conductor. He was a professor of music and director of choral conducting at the University of Utah until 2010. He is currently the artistic director and conductor of the Salt Lake Choral Artists, where he has directed multiple award-winning choirs since 2004.

During his years with SLCA, Dr. Allred has led his choirs to several 1st place finishes in choral festivals and competitions around the world.

He has served on international juries for competitions in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Slovenia, Spain, Brazil, Indonesia, Japan, China, Korea, Malaysia, and Thailand and has conducted over one hundred regional and All-State Choirs.

Dr. Allred earned a Bachelor of Music degree in theory/composition and flute performance from BYU (1985), a Master of Music degree in choral conducting from the Eastman School of Music (1987) and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in conducting from Eastman (1990).

Brady sang with a barbershop quartet in college, and he is excited for his first experience directing a men's barbershop chorus. The Saltaires are looking forward to benefitting from his musical expertise and competitive spirit.

Assistant Director Adam Haggart

Adam Haggart was named Assistant Director of The Saltaires in April 2022 after several years as the chorus’ vocal coach, time as baritone and lead section leader, and a previous stint as the assistant director from 2011-2015. Haggart sang in several quartets in high school and college, later winning the Rocky Mountain District quartet contest on two occasions; 2014 singing baritone with Highland Drive and 2018 singing lead with The Average Joes. He was the music director of The Skyline Chorus from 2010-2014, guiding them to their highest placement and scores in their long competition history, along with two most improved awards. He was a member of the select choral ensembles at the University of Utah and Snow College and served as musical director of award-winning a cappella groups at both schools.

Adam has been a studio vocalist, soloist, and featured performer across the Western US for the last 25 years. He is a passionate vocal coach that does not accept mediocrity from those he works with, and it shows in their performances. Haggart works as a manager for an insurance agency and lives in Cedar Hills, UT with his wife, Rachelle. He has three amazing and talented children in Jackson, Kiera, and Scotland
